Hipster Bunny!
I realize I have not been posting the most important things lately, but the more I think of it not much on this blog is (give or take a few serious posts.) This bunny though, I dunno...he could be important to some. He's hipster bunny! Come on, you gotta love the little mohawk and emo stare. I'm gonna drop him in the Mission and see what happens.

All I wanted was a Table-Mate
I rarely eat at home, but when I do I thought something like the above would be useful when I want to veg out with some Netflix (others have too, they just won't admit it.) But suddenly I have all these questions:
1. Would this TV tray make me feel like a spinster?
2. Will I look as happy as this working woman does in the Amazon ad, with her Mexican dinner? And is this woman supposed to be a spinster?
3. Will this mean I have to buy a cat, and/or this additional accessory?
Reactions from trusted sources have been:
"Buy it...if you want to age 4o years."
"Don't buy it!!"
"Omg, no." and "Please don't"
"Only if you can fold it away and hide it." (Which, might I mention, I can).

Something to Ponder
I was at the grocery store the other day, and the guy bagging my groceries asks me: "Where are you from?" I pointed to my mom and said her family was from Italy, and that my dad is from Iran. His response: "Yea, I thought you looked Middle-Eastern...(his eyes widen, and hands go up) No offense!"
"No offense" ?? How funny/sad! Since when is being Middle-Eastern an insult or a bad thing? Lucky for him I wasn't offended, and told him "none taken." I just find it interesting that he even felt the need to say that. The world is an interesting place these days.

Twitter Stalking
I know I am late to the game, but I have just recently realized how fun Twitter can be. I don't have an account, but I've been coming across the accounts of different friends lately to read randomness from their day. I've also used it as an opportunity to learn about celebrities who are not my friends, but sometimes wish were. For example: Tina Fey. I always knew she was great, and her Twitter posts make me believe it even more. Anyone who recognizes how underrepresented Whatchamacallits are is good by me!

I came across these bacon wrapped mozzarella sticks as I ate a homemade (by mom) bacon chocolate chip cookie. Sounds equally gross, but I promise you it is dee-lish!
This may look disgusting to you now, but I bet you that around 3:30pm in the afternoon during the fast, this will all look a lot tastier!

If I ever got around to actually driving, and somehow came up with a bigillion dollars, I would want this car. Gold and diamond Benz?! Heck, it could be CZs and fake gold and I'd still like it. I don't know why I like the bling so much, but I do. It's so over the top and ridiculous, but I love the sparkles...ain't even gonna front!

Nails Once "Did"
I saw the above picture with the caption: 'M.I.S.S is Looking for Interns!!', and thought "Omg, dream job! The people at MISS want someone to do nails for photoshoots?! " But alas, this wasn't the case. It was just a picture catering to the overall vibe of Mama Clothing; and they actually want an intern to do real work. Boo.
It did get me thinking though...and I think it's time I go back to my old ways, at least for a little bit?

Some Reading From the Morning Commute
I forgot my book this morning, and my plan B is always the iPhone. So I started perusing, and came upon www.iranpresswatch.org. I browsed through the various articles and started reading a son's simple words about his father who was recently abducted by Iranian government officials for his involvement in Baha'i' activities. I don't know if it is because I am a Baha'i', a Baha'i' of Iranian descent whose own family members were persecuted for their beliefs, or just a naturally empathetic individual, but I really felt for this man and started getting a little teary on MUNI.
I can't even imagine what it must feel like to not know where your father is, how he is doing, and what has happened to him. And worst of all knowing that he has been taken away from you for no just reason.
These stories of the Baha'i's in Iran are always a wake-up call for me, and remind me how fortunate I am to be able to practice my beliefs freely. It's easy to forget some have it "rough" (to say the least), when you're living easy.

Small World
Time to revive the blog! I figure what better way to do it then with one of my favorites, Aziz Ansari. (I wonder if/hope he'll find this when he Googles himself...) I got the chance to meet him a couple weeks ago when I went to his show, and while recently browsing his blog I saw that he got to meet one of his own favorites, Mr. Kanye West. I sent a link of the picture to my mom, and her response was "how weird that you have met both of them." Which got me thinking, that is weird. People run into celebrities all the time, but it just kind of struck me how small the world is and how connected we all are somehow. That someone like me, with no real connection to fame and stardom, has happened to be in the same place at the same time as these people. I don't know, maybe it is just my mother and I who think it is a strange coincidence!
